The Last Journey

The last journey. The clouds are darkened grey, the light it starts to fade,it whispers in my ears, its time to go away. For years I've fought this battle, I've kept the fight at bay, but now my mind is weakened, this beast has had its day. I've tried to conquer demons, keep the wild from running free, but now I see this demon, as its staring back at me. My tears they go unnoticed, my cries for help are mimed, for now I face the empty, my solace to hard to find. So I bow my head defeated, I close my eyes to feel, this rope is getting tighter, in my mind it's so unreal. It's time to ride the ferry, one way is all I need, three silvers not of gold, is the price that is agreed. So I take this final journey, remember all my sins, this feeling of this shame, as they ferry man he grins. His boney hands transparent, his face is free of skin, as he takes his payment silent, for he knows I cannot win. No more this war continues, I've fallen far from grace, my feelings are all empty, as I've lost this final race. For now my time is over, no more I have to give, I've tried so hard to conquer, this life I had to live. Paddy 5.3.19
