Sweat pours
from your face and body
Hot days and nights
Sometimes make it unbearable
Sand runs through
your fingers and toes
It feels so nice
Splash!
Cold water from the pool
feels so good!
The salty ocean and the clear blue lake
Brings instant relief to a very warm day
The leaves fall
sweaters come out
pumpkins fill up the neighborhood
First day of school jitters
Replaced by a warm fireplace glow
The chatter of teeth
Seeing your breath in the air
The holidays come and go
Old Lang Syne rings in the New Year
Dark days and night gradually begin to disappear
Snow melts and grass begins to appear
Leaves start to appear on trees
Spring breezes fill the air
Short sleeves replace long
Heavy pants are a thing of the past
As trees become full of color

A little ball of fur in the palm of your hand
Crawling all over the place
Dancing in the air like a butterfly trying to catch string
Curiosity; Mischief; Intensity abound
Innocent eyes peer up at you
Milk is all over the place
Now full grown a companion comes along
Kittens start running around like a busy city street
Mom nurtures and protects them until they are ready to go
Now she is getting old and sleeping more
Her body is wearing out
Age takes it's toll
One day, with the kittens by her side, she quietly slips away
The kittens are little balls of fur in the palm of your hand
Mom would be so proud

Everywhere
BIG and Tall
short and slender
All different
ShaPes and SiZes
Always there
Everywhere
In line and ran d om l y
some old and brittle
some young and STRONG
Leaf piles are fun
Apples are good too
Raking and raking and raking
Branches
falling
down
Through the good and the bad
Shelter from the elements
shade from the sun
coools you down
on a hot summer day
Avoid some raindrops
or snowflakes
What Vibrant and beautiful colors I see
They are always there
Everywhere

What can you do with it?
It comes in all different colors, shapes and sizes
Distinguishes people who have earned recognition
It gives you something or it loans it to you
It can start or end wars
It can make or break you
You can...
have one piece or millions
Learn from it
laugh or cry with it
get out of a tight space or it can get you into one
get from one place to another with it
decide what you will eat with it
listen to it and see it
owe it or it can owe you
get to places you have never seen
see the world with it
What would you ever do without it!

Trees
They are all around
Everywhere
BIG and TALL
Short and slender
All different
ShaPeS and sIzes
Always there
Everywhere
In line and randomly
Some old and brittle
Some young and strong
Leaf piles are fun!
Apples are good too
Raking and raking and raking
Branches
Falling
Down
Through the good and the bad
Shelter from the elements
Shade from the sun
Cooools you down
On a hot summer day
Avoids some raindrops
Or snowflakes
What vibrant and beautiful colors I see!
They are always around

Hanging
