Deneen White Poem
Oh I would give Christopher Higgins a peck..
as I read the words penned by John Heck..
and there just would not be such a spark without
the writes of Michael Degenhardt...
just like it would be a sin, not to feel the words
of Mohammad Yamin...
John Loving, Sean Kelly and Des Juan
the writes of these makes a duckling feel like a swan...
now it seems as if this one is too important
to pass up the likes of Michael Jordan..
and always one to write with good sense
I can't forget my man whose name is Vince...
now it would seem such a shame, to forget
my friend John Rhinem's whole name...
also it just makes no sense to forget the
writes of Joseph Spence..
and how could you not understand
that Brian Strand is the man...
let's not play games not one to poke
don't forget the talents of Mr. James Foulk...
and for that matter how could I forget
my friend Daver..
oh and yes let's close the curtain
but let's not forget the writes of Derrick burton...
these men can truly make the words cry
if you think I'm lying be my abili..
with this list I can always continue
so much great talent on this soup's menu..
if I've left anyone out, I apologize
it's not a smite, and not a guise..
these are a very talented group
that represent on poetry soup.
P.S. THIS IS DEDICATED TO ALL THE MEN
OF POETRY SOUP

Deneen White Poem
Just be still
be
still my beating heart
my beating heart
don't beat so loud
so the sound does
not depart
please
don't give me away
it has to
be my secret
you
can not give me away
please be quiet, just keep it
still
for some of us don't feel
just be still
even though my heart
is real just be still

Deneen White Poem
the wind swept across my face
and touched me with
a touch as light
as a feather
kissing me like a tropical breeze
taunting and teasing me
until we feel again

Deneen White Poem
A'int life funny, the person that you thought was your soul -mate for life
caused you anger, pain, heartache and strife
A'int life funny,
Undoubtledly you were in love with him, but was he with you
You poured out your heart and soul, bending over backwards, twisting and turning
like an acrobat
Just to hear him say what have you done for me lately
Like you owe this so and so, good-for-nothing kind of guy, working on the sly
While you are asking yourself why
Here we go again and again now what's the plan. trying to understand where
you now stand, or stood, wishing you understood, how you could end up in
the same place, trying to erase, but you can't face listening to the same old song
Want to be wrong, trying to keep on and on
Trying to seek peace, cannot release the breath that you are holding in
so that the pain inside of you does not come out exploding like a torpedo
on the go
Trying to find a hiding place inside yourself
Sometimes when we think life has done us wrong, it's actually a blessing in
disguise, hiding behind the mask is happiness for you, and you try to pull
through, because you feel like this is the un-doing of you
You don't even know from this point on where to go
Up and down feelings wrapped around cutting off your air supply while
you die inside
Then again think to yourself it's not the money
Just for you to realize, now a'int life funny

runs wild and free
I can be
whatever I'd like to be
free to be me

Deneen White Poem
The black man has had a life full of trauma
Forget what you heard save the drama for your mama
When will the struggles for the black man end
When we will come together as a people and blend
Keep your head up black man and keep standing tall
You always have to give your all and all
Your struggle as a black man as a black woman I understand
And I will be there for you my black man
I know that times get frustrated and hard
And you always have to be on your guard
My black man stands with beaming pride
Because I'm his black woman I'll stand by his side
You have the strength to cope and endure
Just lean on me I'll be your allure
I'll always remember my black man with much pride
And I will continue to stand by his side
For the struggles of the black man continue to go on
Just remember my black man you are not alone
So keep hope alive and soar on high
Beacause you are my black man with dignity and pride

I pray for peace
all the time there
is nothing like
peace of mind
