Of Sadness and Gladness

What great sorrows come with joy!
What great pains come with happiness!
For if sorrows came with sadness,
And if joys came with gladness;
What would we have to gain?

I Hear, I See, I Feel

I hear, I see, I feel
 I hear
The song of a happy child resounding through the trees.
I hear
The birds singing their ancient melodies
I hear
The voices of a thousand hearts traveling on the breeze.

I see
The brightly colored flowers greeting the early sun.
I see
The beauty of kingdoms now overrun
I see
The weary war-torn soldiers and the battles they have won

I feel
The warmth of a mothers hug dancing on my skin
I feel
The crys of joy that we hold deep within
I feel
The steps that every man has taken and where they have been

Where My Mind Dwells

What a strange place where my mind dwells.
Where savagery runs wild
And buffoonery is a crown of glory and not shame.
A place where the graceless reside
And run between the stacks of distorted memories.
Where the gullible are the kings and queens of stability.
A backwards land where those who are extraordanary
Are consideres less than desireable
And are placed at the lowest spot.
A place where sympathy and empathy no longer reside
And have long since stayed away.
A sad and emotionless place because depression consumes even the most lively of people.
A place where death and fear
Is ubiquitous and inescapeable.
Yet there is something truly spectacular about this place.
It is where i can come in the quietness
And pen my precious thoughts without the fear of being shamed and proposed as a fool.

Oh To Be

Oh to be as a star!
My lissome form shimmering.
Set in the firmament
By some celestial being.

Oh to be as a bird!
To let the breeze flow over the pinion
Of my mighty wings
And men can not besmirch my name.

Oh to be as a traveler!
Each new home a simple sojourn.
To have come from the throes
Of my past tents and mansions.

Oh but this joyous reverie has come to an end
And we must return to our blissful repose.

And Then I Will Be Happy

I gazed upon a garden Hoping the flowers would help cheer me up in this cold and heartless world. I could easily think of the bad things But really, what good would that do for me? I stop myself from thinking And I put my mind to rest I think of all the good and happy things. I think of Adventure across the seas Of fighting Pirates and curing disease. I think of the colored trees Blowing in the Autumn Breeze. I think of spring flowers that bring the bees And rain, with the rainbow it guarantees Whenever I'm alone I think of these. I then think of lavish Kings With gold necklaces and Rings. I will also think of a bird that sings And flies around on its silvery Wings. The Earth bringing forth its freshwater Springs And Soon the Darkness will leave And then I will be happy. September 20, 2018 Sponsored by: Emile pinet

What Stays With Us Like Memory

What stays with us like memory?
Life itself? Well, maybe.
No, no, no. That can't be.
Life fades from time to time like fog over the sea.

What stays with us like memory?
Fine gold and jewelery?
No, no, no.That can't be.
Gold and jewels with tarnish, and stay no more with me.

What stays with us like memory?
Ill tell you if you please.
The only thing thing that will stay with me.
Is my truly dear, dear friend. My best friend, Sherri.

What Has This World Come To

What has this world come to?
That all men are hypocrites
That all men have falsities
That all men hide behind a mask of fake courage
Because they are not brave enough to face their fears

What has this world come to?
That man does wicked and evil things
And the world thinks it to be an act of mercy
That those who are weak get strength
By diminishing the strength of the powerful
That the strong heed the voices of the weak
And give in to deprssin and anxiety

What has this world come to?
Answer me people!
It can not be just me who sees this.
This has to be someone else's worls aswell.
And we must fix it before we drown ourselves
In war and terror

Sheer Serenity

The vibrant trees that overlook
The running waters of the bubbling brook
That cast a dancing shadow
On the water below
But still a light leaves its soft glow
On rocks between banks that run to and fro
And on the horizon
Are rolling hills rising.
And the frail, pink flowers growing ever so small
Get support from the trees as though not to fall
And farther along, a path, well beaten
Surrounded with bushes by insects are eaten,
And the brook which bends and turns
Calls me to follow and my heart it burns
To chase it and chase it but i will never succeed
It will always go faster wherever it leads
The spleandor of this magnificent scene
Will even leave the up tight serene
