Nymphomania

I have been called a sex god
It has been said that
I radiate an aura of pure sexuality
I stopped telling my friends stories of my exploits years ago
Because they don't believe me
For instance
My last lover was a 54 year old paraplegic actress
I once gave a girl dozens of orgasms within a single minute
And can reproduce this feat at any time on any woman

Every inch of my body is fantastic
Like a machine fine-tuned for sexual pleasure
My sex drive is monstrous
Unending
Makes me crazy
I only stop to smoke cigarettes once every few hours
And I don't have a refractory period

All this is true
I'm probably a nymphomaniac
But it doesn't matter
Because I hate people
Because I hate dating
Because I have nothing to prove
Because the cosmos are indifferent
Because economizing sex disgusts me

I'm generally quiet
Try to keep a low profile
But inside
a Martian sex dragon
Breathing passion and lust
Inside
Roaring madly alone, tortured
Clawing at my skin
Chomping on my bones
Gnashing on my brain like a chew toy

I pretend not to care
I like to think it doesn't have an affect on me
But it is me
And I hate it
And I love it

Guts

Need a pill
Wanna die
Wanna hear
Pounding nails

Shut my eyes
Close the lid
Let it end
Please let it end

In my guts
My filthy guts
Poison rise
In my head
Dark abides
In my soul
Tantalize
Wanna die
Let it end
Please let it end

What has begging ever done
For a misbegotten rotten son

Saliva drips
From my lips
Eyelids flutter
Painful shudder
Smashing brains
Always pain
Let it end
Please let it end

Crawling
Towards
The
Meat
Grinder

Totally Uncool

I've got no tattoos
No jewelry or fancy shoes
I shine like a boring rock
Kicked by a kid down a cracked sidewalk

I listen to old jazz
Everything on the radio is bad
I'm not controversial or shocking
Just sensible and slightly mocking

The coolest thing I do is smoke
And even that, these days
Is a health hazard, the trendy would say
For the spiritually broke

Maybe so, maybe so
I'm totally uncool
A dinosaur, as a rule

Pass me by, perchance
Spare a spare glance
You see what you seek
And honey, it ain't me

Well that's fine
Because I been around the block
Many times
And I don't mind

Yo.

Homeless

Wherever it is
in lips meeting or a seat familiar
a familiar tune plays clear
this is home, it says
out of the rain
shelter comes and goes today
inevitability ensues
comfort is fleeting, only away

I'M Glowing

It must've been when driving by the evening sun
Its godlike brilliance blasting through the clouds
Cutting the sky apart with rays of light
I loved it
And maybe it loved me
Maybe something so beautiful
Finds sad and broken things to be beautiful in turn
Maybe it gave me something
A bit of its glow
Now carrying my silent destitution
Simple, stripped, and clear
I'm glowing

Fulcrum of the Times

The orchestra of the world
become violently overplayed
become muted white noise
sanely adjusted to a nigh-zero

And here where the colors are bright
here where we living meet
here there are questions, questions all the time
can't make anything out,
there's nothing but garbled nonsense
drowning out a single answer

Through the noise
the dissonant truth we hate
burning wire of gold to follow, made of words
ignores irrational fingers pointed by languid vice
ignores stones cast by the righteous and justified
ignores missiles and bombs and bullets and guns sprung from bottomless wallets
all weapons leveled against this disharmony
and god forbid
and mother help us
it won't stop

We can hear it and it terrifies us
We can hear it now
definition creeps back in, terror itself

Thus the fulcrum of the times
So important are these final lines
That they're written here in rhyme
Are you broken and chained
In a prison of mistakes
Or do you have what it takes
To reap the fell crop, and a truer world
Create?
When you hear it,
and you will,
you'll make the choice
and be fulfilled

Palimpsest

I made a painting of a happy little house
On a happy little hill
Under a clear azure sky
And the sun was cheerful and bright
Then I covered it with black
Then I splashed it with gray
Then I let crimson drip onto it
Then I took a knife and stabbed it over and over
Then I tore it apart
Then I burned it
Then I spat on the ashes
Then I howled in rage
Then I curled up into a ball and cried

So Fated

To wander alone
With a fist clutched around emptiness
Bowed to nature but never to man
Searing words for the stars

And in the night I fade
In the night I become a shaft of moonlight
Rising
Born again from the earth at dawn
To struggle

Less than human
To be judged
So fated
Madness is in my blood
And my blood sings

An Autumn Leaf

You never let me say no
But I'm afraid I must insist
For you see
I never wanted to exist
And all these years I've struggled in your petty little games
Seen something pure inside me
Turn toxic in vicious flames
And I don't know who to blame
I feel so empty
Less certain of anything than ever
And I don't think it even matters
I am defeated
I have been beaten
I'm eating dirt
You keep beating

Anyway
I never should have been born
But tonight
Tonight he's coming to the door
And I will finally be free
After 29 years of yearning
I will embrace death as a lover
And drift away quietly
Like an autumn leaf

Backwards Reality

The only sane response
Is chainsmoking
Drinking gallons of coffee
Listening to album after album
Time drags on
In this backwards reality
