Pseudo Artistry

Blood that screams mixes with tears of fears,
Over your hypocrisy and useless years.
Fresh cuts don't matter - your attentions yet wane.
It's just too easy to shut down, I could end this pain.

But, escape artists aren't artists at all.

When life ends the real journey begins, the journey to be
Above imperfection and glorified weakness everyone sees.
Life trickles into the drain of the sink, wash it and pretend
The veil is burning off,but there is only so much fire can mend

Besides, escape artists aren't artists at all.

Consummated

I’m not clever and you’re naïve.
Choices weighed, decisions made,
You can’t fix things if you leave.

It was real but will never again be.
Promises told, futures sold,
You lost your right to call me.

Years of stories and coffee dates
Lattes wasted, love tasted,
Sharing in the demon’s fates.

You picked a side and drew your line.
Lost salvation, no revelation,
Eternally chained to her shrine.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

In Your Hand My Confidence Lies

I’ve tasted disappointment
And given up a time or two,
But I left that girl in another world,
When I fell in love with you.

Though the path ahead looks rocky,
No doubt I’ll ache for you each day.
My love will never falter,
Your ‘forever’ I'll always stay.

Granted we have made some mistakes,
But our resilience we will prove.
We’ll show them what our faith means,
Then from my nook I’ll never move.

With your heart you hold my trust,
In your hand my confidence lies.
With your lips you guard the secret to
Love no trial could disguise.

Bed Business Betrayal

You were everything I prayed against you to be.
You peddled your rhymes on Friday nights,
You sold your soul and your creative rights.
But the only one who saw the change was me.

I feel your grip loosen and you’ve started to slip,
They consume you in the midnight hour,
Your dirty knees show that you’ve lost all power.
But I still reach out, I can see through your quip.

Your betrayal has now climaxed, and to it’s easiness you heed.
Your eyes can see only hatred and pain,
So as their whore you will forever remain.
But my eyes see the everlasting promise, the one you didn’t need.

Binding Up the Broken-Hearted

He binds up the broken hearted, i know that this is true.
For He bent down and comforted me, had a bandaid for my wound.
Like a small child with my "boo-boo"
He patted my back with words of solace and truth.
He let me see love greater than any human could show,
He opened my heart so consequences I could know.
Now thankful doesn't even begin to touch my feelings for him...
See, he didn't forgive me once, but time and time again.
He saves those crushed in spirit with his mighty hand...
Pulls us up from the wreckage, leads us to the promised land.

Count To Ten and Fake It...

hold your breath... count to ten... just stay right here.
i pray the taste of your kiss never disappears.
giving way to the taste of tomorrow (so bitter)...
my hands on your back show i'm not letting go... but you know...
this fire that started in my toes travels slowly up to my mouth,
igniting every inch of my skin
this craving increases with every movement, every breath,
i'm trembling at the thought of you... aching to know if you crave me too.
and you said it was my love that you loved,
but if it's too much to contain will my devotion be enough?
just breathe... and we'll pretend i never came
and this fire that burns inside i'll try to douse,
with the water that reality set out. and i can not fake this,
this pain that comes from patience.
and you don't have to hold me, i don't have to stay. just tell me that you want to
it'll be enough to help me save... this heart, thats burning down tonight.
with my hands on your back i show i'm not letting go... but you know.

The Secret Person of My Heart...

Leaps and bounds from a former state,
Will it ever be enough?
Not now, for I still hesitate.
Swaying by the line, unable to move,
Your impatience impedes me,
Will my fears you disprove?
In the absence of hope I'm slowly drowning,
Here silently screaming,
But the days you keep counting.

A Hesitant Dawn

An unusual brand of happiness,
The release of lettting go.
A rush of realization,
Maybe finally you know.
A glimpse of something better,
Came shining through his eyes.
Accepting this fresh exhilaration,
Whilest praying against lies.
Distinguishing between sincerity
and that familiar self-destruction
Gets harder with every heart-break
and each eventual obstruction.

Vulnerability

Someone to call when things start to crumble,
Someone who's there when I need to be humbled,
A friend to hold on when all else let go,
All mistakes, secrets, dreams you already know.
No coy diversions from honesty here,
A brave vulnerability without any fear.
A best friend born for those times of distress,
Someone, the secrets of my heart to confess.
Completely trusting this will never end.
Knowing on each other we will always depend.
No words to thank you for helping me through,
I will always find solace in knowing I have you.
Your confidence in me provides courage unknown,
Your passion inspires me to find ardor my own.

Today, I Need You

I write to calm my spinning head
to stop the pain and kill the dread.
Thoughts flood in, today’s the day.
I still can’t breathe when you’re away.
Yes, it's another one of those
when countenance I can’t compose!
Slipping away to the place unseen
flooded by an insufficient memory.
Tonight, words said will change everything
but I have not your voice to kill the pain.
