And So I Am Alone

like a black mass inside
so i am alone.
i stand tall and then i crumble
so i am alone.
if you give up, i can’t fight
so i am alone.
your words of concession broke me down
and so i am alone.

the life you lead, i know not of
so you are alone.
your friends, your feelings, your family
so you are alone.
if you call out, i can not hear
so you are alone.
i love you still ‘til my last breathe
but so you are alone.

time was needed to make it right
so we are alone.
we tried but we still made mistakes
so we are alone.
i am a mouse without my rock
so we are alone.
will you still be there when time is up,
so we won’t be alone?
