Unsure, he stayed a few more seconds.
He felt strongly he should go.
The date had not gone well.
Should he apologize? He knew he was not a talker.
Madame Olenska smiled at him.
“You should stay with me a little longer,” she said.
His face flushed.
He felt the heat.
There was something wrong.
“My mother is waiting up,” he lied.
Was she was going to cut him up and eat him?
She grabbed his arm with the strength of two weightlifters.
“I said you should stay,” she said.
He was terrified.
The gymnasts and swimmers all move ‘round
The trick is not to slip on the ground
Some swim like fish
Some fly and swish
And to the podium they are bound!
The marathoners burn up the track
The weightlifters have strong arms and back
They lift up high
Tho God knows why
And their goal is not to hear a crack!
The Olympic games are really fun
For the nations and for everyone
The athletes will cry
And so will I…
My poor eyes will be glad when they’re done!
Canada's Olympic team,
pro weightlifters
and skiers,
sat down to a celebration gala,
grand festivities at the
ACC,
a feast of Cheerios and
a glass of water,
passed
with
handshakes,
candles and cupcakes,
everyone wishing
to be back to that moment,
when they beat the odds.
