Waiting

he sits, patiently impatient, calm,
outwardly no racing thoughts or heart on show,
but inward seething keeps the monster warm,
unleash-ready, eager for the rampage-consuming glow.

was this another divinely proverbial carrot held
before this simple man: the gods mirth-born donkey?
or was this ray of hope true and virtuous meld,
not more imagined laughter at expense of countless a plea?

verdict hanging out there, its balance frightful frail,
the now, and the near-now, determining of that fate,
and as winds of chance while away at a mayhap false dawn, weak and pale,
faith alone, Deo volente, keep at bay the monster's hate.

So, now it comes to this:
Eternal rage, or some grateful moments' bliss...

Deo Volente

God's willing we shall strive
May we never lose our drive
You cry, I cry, we all cry
But then again sometimes we smile

God's willing very soon it shall rain
Torrents of blessings, oh! We're tired of just dews
We shall occupy flamboyant terrains
Brace yourself, I see us standing on higher plateaux

God's willing all your seeds shall grow
Though u shall only reap what you sow
Some call it a bluff; it's a truth we all know
You only escape if next winter produces pink snow

God's willing we shall marry before our thirties
At forty, rich enough to buy Bentleys and Ferraris
Haha, hey you! I clearly caught you smiling
Make sure u also go out and do some planting

You just put in some work, trust God and avoid envy
The future is bright I need not go philosophical like Ghandi
Our tomorrow shall definitely taste like juice and brandy
Gods willing... Oh! Deo Volente!

Yearning For Earnings

Yearning for earnings

An annum for my God may be hundred years of His day
My plans included His will, to guide all the steps of my way
But neither “Yet” nor “already been” was granted; I cry
Still my earnings determine my yearnings as life pass me by

Like waters on the ocean floor, should my fiscal standing allow
the boat of my passion thirst float - anyway; Somehow…
But Deo Volente seems distant and far. Like only I dream.
Deep down, puddled up oceans can scream for a brand new regime

Abroad with my little boat on dry ground prevail
Like never before any traveler could fail
Still eager to learn from the God that I fear
Maybe one day in hundred for more than a year.
