Urban Writing Poems

Tube Robots

The corrugated clang and creak of the escalator
Welcomes murmurs of lovers entwined in conversation
The lilted quick chatter of tourists
Interrupted by those racing- no regard for bags, or backpacks or babies.

Mechanically they step on and off
Fever is in their eyes
To get on, sit somewhere, go some place
Sometimes they push, like children

This Unreal City

I live in New York
   City
An unreal place
   where you see gorgeous women
  and plenty of homeless people
 This city is a study in contrasts
 between the haves and have - nots
It is a cultural mecca
with museums, concerts and plenty of poetry readings

Urban Writing

An epitaph spoilt by an oxymoron;
the journey of a twisted smile
within a plastic face;
a testimony of color sprayed in the subway,
overgrown and wanting- city bound.
My home base.

Sanctioned by the night,
steal from the darkness
and luminous pathways
within sweet, blinding light.

Steal to the streets
and recapture the home
