It was a long time ago
as this story lends
In my late 20's when i dated Nicky
if you could call it that
And I drove a claped out VW Beatle
can't even remember if i had a job
But i looked great in a white tailored shirt i was buff and in my prime at this time
But she had a child and though the passion was wild and we were a good looking couple
She needed and wanted more than that
and honestly in my heart of heart's i think i always new and understanded that
But it still took a long time getting over
when she left me and moved on
But for me what was heartbreaking was for and the baby the best
Because a mother has to do what's best and sometimes that supersedes love
Maybe that's why i still miss her and love her
But i am sure she is better off without me
