Underactive Poems | Examples

What Size

In my teens nothing bothered me,
Size 10 I could eat what I wanted,
My weight wasn’t something I worried about,

In my twenties and in my prime,
Size ten to twelve I watched what I ate,
Aerobics and weightlifting became my thing,
To keep my flat tum and tight bum,

In my thirties and two kids later now a twelve to fourteen,
My tum was bigger flabbier but not my bum,
I was always on one diet or another.

In my forties and now a size sixteen,
I have a big big tummy and slightly saggy bum,
Do I diet or exercise no not a lot,

Now in my fifties and a size !!!!!!!! eighteen,
I totally given up on the dieting,
With an underactive thyroid I dont see the point,
Now with a slight double chin and bingo wings,
Tum hanging low but bums ok it looks good in jeans
I've not mentioned two things they flew south years ago.

Premium MemberI Reassure Muse

My underactive mind takes my ideas swiftly away from us,
Kicking them in mean ways into corners, under redundant debris.
But wait I say, protesting

It does no good; my status quo mind is done.
Ideas are now kaput, thrown away in all directions
Nothing tidy about her terribleness, certainly not cleansing or kind.

I try to coax out my sensitive muse, but she is in hiding, terrified.
Worn out and sad, for our underactive mind is insisting on its way.
Wants concretes and absolutes, tired of imagination winning daily.

Maybe tomorrow? I suggest to muse gently, stroking her faerie hair.
Muse is in fetal position now, tucking her face under fluffy blanket.
I reassure her gently as we drift to sleep in perpetual soul land,
Knowing our ideas will be replenished and revived by morning.

Premium MemberSee Food Diet

Some people moan that they are overweight
Attempt dieting but can’t shift it at any rate
I could have an underactive thyroid they may squawk…
But in reality
They suffer from an overactive knife and fork!
