Many a place that time leaves behind
Hold memories that never rust
Like the now broken swing where skyward you'd climb
It now creaks as it sways in a windy gust
The old wooden house where you once lived
Held memories of laughter and fun
With beauty from nature derived
Playing where the rivers run
The rustling leaves of the old oak tree
is remembered by those who explored its branches
Now it plays a sentimental melody
As recollections flow without stanches
Impressions may come and go
But in some forgotten corridor of the mind
An image will suddenly show
"By the squeaky old gate that tomorrow will find"

Nothing soothes me,
Nothing grooves me,
Nothing behooves me.
I’m grasping at branches,
Bandaging the stanches,
But I still don’t understand it.
IT being what’s happened to me,
The source of my abject misery,
Which simply isn’t clear to me.
I wish that it would clear for me,
But I don’t expect to see
Life ablaze and bright for me.
I don’t know what is right for me.
I’m trying to rediscover me
Since I lost the crux of me.
I don’t know when I lost it,
Only know it’s a struggle to gets
Beyond what I’d like to forget.
I’m so caught up in regret,
Fear it’ll cause my death.
Forgive me, I’m bereft:
Just blame my lame
And sorry mental health.

Cinnamon- the scent of autumn
Candles drown- wax puddle bottom
Stormy clouds- shrouds of confinement
Tattered jeans- trendy consignment
Younger days- the color of green
Falling leaves- brush off what they mean
Windy skies- snapping of branches
Tourniquet- hemorrhage stanches
Crescent moon- gloaming afternoon
Letting go- lost grip on balloon
Shadows fade- each shade of grey blends
December- the calendar ends
