We had nowhere else to go
but to this place called hell.
A lifeless nowhere
a door without a bell.
Into the cold dark recess,
flesh hung from walls
bones flung all awry.
Eyes in jars with large pig’s feet
were laid out six foot deep
I shuddered as I spied
A bundle of rags with a horned head
stared, a spasmodic twitch to its face
threw a magnanimous look
a black ribbon across his neck.
A fat crow scored a deep cut across his skin
where maggots suckled blood
as raw as worms
plumed his feathered cloak
Laughter gurgled like an old cough
an eerie whine poured forth,
from the toothless gap
that talked a load of squit;
it beckoned us through coloured shadows
from giant hairy spiders, their webs they spun.
A scream escaped, I tried to run
but tangled into knots.
Slithered over slimy sloth
Into a hornet’s nest
I jumped and woke in a terrible sweat.
A dream it was I’m sure
Relief swept over my whole being,
Until...
I looked and saw a scaly head
Smile at me from the floor.

Little Miss Tough Squit,
Was downing a "shot",
When some jive-arsed turkey...
Parked his butt right next to her spot...
He oogled Miss Tough Squit...
Thought he might have a chance...
Asked her if she'd like to dance...
She looked him over with great contempt,
His clothes not clean, his hair unkempt..
"Buzz Off Bozo!!" she barked at him...
He got all red, his patience grew thin...
He was about to say what he ought not,
But she preempted him,
With a clean chin shot...
