If you asked me what the stripes stand for here is what I'd say to you.
It is the values I grew up on,
that our parents hold so true.
making sure you use your manners it is expected of you
Look up and see the eagles wings spreed so great as it
hovers above you in the wide open sky.
As it cast its shadow onto the land below.
The way life is for people around the world,
is nothing like it is, if you were born as an American.
Hold the door open for the elderly person this would make your elders so proud of you
saying hello and good morning to someone walking down the road is always the polite thing
to do.
Say my lands pledge every night the same way I was taught to recite ,
I thank you lord for putting me here where the men are fighting for our
courage and fears
We live as one on this land that shares the stripes with everyone
The red white and blue are your colors too.

she was as wide as she was tall
her pride would never fall
a pat on the belly
she turned to jelly
sleeping by my door
spreed out on the floor
on her back in my lap
to big to slip through the gap
20 pound of my cat...
dog she wasn't that
colored black and white
like a clear winters night
a white mustache under her nose
white fur on all of her toes
black running down her legs
flees causing her fur to go to rags
waiting for me after work
never passing up a toke
despising any closed door
not caring we were poor
a friendship never to be replaced
knowing i will never forget her grace
good bye fat cat

must of been a bad day at work
she thinks to herself
as a angry hand cascades across her face
not know why this time
as a hand strikes again
she fall in to four walls
she is safe
the body bleeds and swells
as the hand hit's again
she becomes limp
she is awake
but broken
and the pieces no long spreed
with a smile on his face
he see there no more to get
as one last time tonight
a hand bludgeons her face
he walks to the dresser
whistling with a light hearted grin
he picks up a box
as it flies through the air
that birthday flashes thought her mind
it hit the wall
and brakes in to a thousand pieces
he smile an evil smile at her
he know he got what he wants
with a hop and a whistle
he walks out of the room
closing the door behind him
she crawls along the floor
picks up the balarina
and cries
