Premium Member The Greens of the Past Summer Are of History

Snow drifts by my window
while flakes fall
from heaven
covering the fall leaves
and the past
left behind
The surroundings
turn white
from many colors
while the bright stars
and patches of blue sky
peer through the impervious
white clouds
from the sky
left behind
The greens
of the past summer
are of history
and the dust dirt and grime of the city
are happily forgotten
for a time
It is the first snow
of winter
and I rejoice
in its fresh crisp snowiness
awaiting
with visible breath
the next season
