Spicy hot chili
on a frozen winter day
Nothing better
to keep the chills away
Mac and cheese
melted globs of cheese gooey goodness
seconds please
Hot soup hits the spot
to warm you up its tops
Yummy yum savory broth
warms you up a lot
Beef stew with a rich sauce
on a cold winters day is boss
The aroma makes you lick your chops
Lip smacking tummy rubbin
finger licking mouth shoven
Comfort foods from pot or oven
warms the body home love'n
You shouldn't a been so greedy
And at the feedbox shoven'
For every four pounds that you gained
Its an hour in the oven.
I'm sorry if your Thanksgiven'
Is something less than happy.
You shoulda listened to your ma
When she tole about your pappy.
She said that he was greedy,
Chased the others from the trough.
He was so big and looked so good,
They chopped his proud head off.
Your brothers what you bested
Will live another year.
I grab the biggest drumstick
And brush away a tear.
I beat my brothers to that leg
And I'm feelin' kind of perky.
I'm glad on this Thanksgiven Day,
I wasen born a turkey.
