Fetchers of slippers, retrievers of sticks.
Anytime nappers, performers of tricks.
Furry lap warmers and guards of our doors.
Muddy paw trackers across our clean floors.

Dancer
Leg warmers flop and fold
Embracing tender ankles
Adored by suitors

the sun flirt with rays of Spring fire,
but not until sheep and lions
give birth to roaring lambs,
will our doormats transition
to round-the-clock muddy welcomes....
