Lightning lines
in my wrecked psyche
spark through gale turned sigh.
Whirlwind heaves the shards of dreams
in pathos.
Gloom within
flows with unwept tears,
lost in hushed thunder.
Frail mind’s fallen sky absorbs
silent storm.
We live upon
Our naked souls
Cradle thoughts
Beneath the light
We hear the pain
On sacred roles
Chaos brims over

We stand above
The dying never

Undying clever

as tattered as the cloud
stalled above you.
Stilled
by the quiet math
of an end
already calculated.
The soil calls your name.
On the rivers edge
you are the willow
cradling dawn's mist
of unwept tears
A practiced sorrow
earned from decades
of watching the river
pull the banks
into its mouth.
Soulless
Dissected
A heart turning back
Jilted
Rejected
Last stab in the back
Mourning
New morning
The day unatoned
Nighttime
The verdict
Whose sentence disowns
Lovers
And lizards
The swamp but the same
Feeding
On hunger
Starvation the game
Cursing
each blessing
with heartache reset
Dying
While living
