Red Tulip

Frozen to survive
Inside a mummified heart
A seed in slumber
Till enticed by the warm smile
To bloom in front of her eyes

The Wet Tulip (Tanka)

Sopping wet tulip
Tries hard to conserve droplets
Caught in rainy day
But cannot stop dripping
Out of fringe of the petals

Tulip Smiles

Tulip smiles at dawn.
Her red petals open up
to warm the sunrise.

between blankets of tulips
beauty laid for miles

The tulip is a delicate flower
Her delicious fragrance is a delight.
Nurtured by sun for many an hour,
Thriving in this beautiful gay sunlight.

After the day her soul will fly away,
I will buy her a wooden tulip bouquet.
"I give you all of my love today," I'll say,
Instead of giving them all away.

the tulip tree tosses petals
to the dying maple tree
tree-cutting men and chainsaw converse
leaving stumps ...of words
a twitching, gray squirrel cusses....

At the Tulip Parade

Our Joyce at the Tulip Parade
was humming the music they played;
she leapt to her feet,
and danced to the beat
(but sang out of tune, I'm afraid)...

Springtide Flowers

Tulips send the signal of spring,
Crocus invites the birds to sing.
Daffodils in gentle breeze,
Happiness, they symbolize.
Love and prosperity these flowers bring.

Like a Tulip

Tears from heaven
wash me through
rinse me of my sins
sow them into sand
let me flow in the river
let me merge with the sea
or soak me in the seed
let my love blossom in her
like a tulip that never wilt

Premium Member tulip painter

Where is that tulip painter? Someone asked in a strange way.
Someone said, “Think I saw him on the sky wind today. “
Yesterday he was crawling out of an oak tree’s knothole.
He is a wise artist for sure, being helpful is his ultimate goal.

The blue tulip has died- -
Jaunty jealousy
a blue murder mystery
something has dried up?
It’s not done this way
after the burial done
coming back as a flower?

Your Tulip

Like a tulip in spring,
I open my petals to embrace you in.
With every strike of the wind,
Vigorous color flushed through my skin.
Splendorous blooming fields,
All laying to form a bed.
Awaiting your sway,
All to emit their lovely scent.

Tulip Screen

It may seem an odd time of year
to be throwing flowers before the fire
What ire possessed! Is this some jest?
or colorful reminder of springs bequest

White petals rise above flames of gold blazoned with a red maple leaf. Holland designed this tulip around the flag of Canada, truly a unique bloom. (Waltz Wave) 6/09/2021 Waltz Wave Contest Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Kim Merryman

Premium Member Intimidated By a Tall Pink Tulip

I am intimidated by her tallness
How can I ever hope to climb her?
I like getting to the top, but this is ridiculous.
My daddy gives me a nod. You can do this, Kid.
I am not confident.
But she is so gorgeous, and calling me.
It is like she has chosen me, so I begin the climb, terrified.

He Has Tulip Fever

The footprint that goes back to deep in life,
He carries countless long breaths.
He has tulip fever,
The aroma of tulip sticks to her nose
as long as she lives;
The flower is cut off
the odor is just nosed.
She now lives in the air, on the street,
near the river
And in the story of human love.

Premium Member rhapsody of a moon tulip

and when crickets croon our song in whispered tones, find me within luscious reveries of tulip moons, while stars swirl to the rhapsody of longing~ clouds burst lilac dust upon the burning skyline... for even in your absence, I taste the firefly’s kiss, caressing the infatuated skin of my seized canvas.
