Premium Member Toady Sang a Silly Song
Toady sang a silly song
Sang it underneath the oak
A song to kill, old Toady joked
Silly as the day was long
Song was over, Toady croaked

Truth of a Soldier
Soldiers leave for war toady
Closing laptops on the way
Missing families that they leave
Now dieing of illness and disease
Bombs are launched in the air
Bodies laying everywhere
Soldiers are for who we cry
We are the reason that they die...

Jimmie Jim My Piddling Crony
Jimmie Jim my piddling crony was a little toady
     Happened to meet a gaudy king who loved a hot toddy
                 Jimmie’s ass an ace in the hole
            Dipped in snail’s pace in the king’s bowl
     Said Jim Sire, my daddy, King of Ire, I am your bawdy...

Premium Member Sweet Privilege
Sweet privilege;
seeing people fawn;
knowing the superiority of wealth,
and holding it close like a warm coat.

The 'not having to toady',
or to speak nicely to a boss -
she relished these and other moments
of her upper class.

Happy Anniversary…
one year on the Soup for me!
Technically, a few more days,
pretty close though, anyway.
Made some friends and learned a lot;
what you see is what I’ve got.
Wonder what next year will bring -
y’all done heard my toady sing.
Florida Man, Bubba’s barn,
Frog King was my favorite yarn.
Adding much to all the fun,
reading what all y’all have done.
Delighted to have found this group
writing poems at the Soup!...
