Insecurity and Impurity
Insecurity and Impurity

A big problem to me has been insecurity;
Had resembled and become an impurity;
Tell tale signs,
Of others designs,
And much the result of more immatruity.

The visions of you are flooding my mind The tell-tale signs of love undefined The birds must know something, I’m scared to admit They are chirping away In a very unsettling way…

These Gardener's Hands
These gardener's hands
this soil black
The sun upon my olive skin

This shadow sky
with one lone cloud
To pierce the blue horizon

My finger nails
with tell-tale signs
of never wearing gloves

Tomato plants and
rosemary: a feast
just waiting to happen....

Tell Tale Signs
The face is flush
The knees are weak
The throat is dry
You cannot speak

You sweat when near
Your heart will race
You lose your breath
When seen, her face

Hands are clammy
You stutter a bit
You’ll fall if you stand
So you just sit

Yet there is no way
You’d say no to these things
Because they’re just signs
Of the love that she brings...

Blind Sided
Love confuses the senses
It tricks us into seeing what’s not there
We see what we want to see
Someone you love, who loves you back
In equal measure
Someone as happy, content, faithful
As you are
But love blinds us
It blinds us to the truth
It fails to register
All the tell tale signs
Of sadness, discontent and infidelity
Until it’s too late...

Tell tale signs linger in the void, of unvoiced emotions destroyed, yet embraced by the universe, thereby shaping destiny’s verse, replaying as our life’s refrain, until mindful eye does ingrain each flicker and nuance within bleeding hearts, thus exhuming sin from the very core of our soul, that womb of existence feels whole. 03-August-2022

Thoughts Contained In Horn Haiku
either look or see
what you will become and be
sure you will agree

We are definitely the product
of our environment. Maybe that
is why DC is so miserable.

will sew what they breed
so should plant the proper seed
separate from weed

arrived at third floor
thanked God that there are no more
my feet sure are sore

Tell tale signs of a Brother Rat

rat friend had been a brother
was always like no other
still lousy lover...

Turquoise Eyes
Beneath the slumber of a summer day the tell tale signs
of a serene splashed beryl sky gone rye
Bereft of love the royal sea ingraphs me and rewinds
your turquoise eyes and misbehavin' laugh;
Those stillson jaws still haunt me many nights
with navy shades of tragic/ loss ;
How can I forget you if each time I look down
I see that tattoo on my arm (two cobalt wings of inky hue)
that never fly nor leave my side.

Soil and Toil
There upon the ground discarded
where fruited blessings were ill guarded
lay the efforts of my spring toil
the perspired digging and setting seed in soil

Peaches and tomatoes once large and green
are cast upon the earthly tumultous scene
and now squash and peppers lay
 torn down, half eaten castaways.

Scouring the landscape garnished
I questioned what happened to my harvest?
There way in the back beneath the shed
the tell tale signs of the groundhog now well fed....
