Sad Slosh Slides
one
too many
for the road
as the driver stumbled
to the coffin-black car
the sky's stomach rumbled
wet black tar
to fast
end...

Promises of Spring
Pit pat pit pat
Zoom slosh and soggy felt

Runny nose, midday doze
Aching knees steaming tea
Crackling logs, evening fogs

All promises of Spring...

If sunrise sat on a dish-
should this be your wish-
hope for golden dough, mellow
spheres of cooked cornmeal
sunk in okra slosh
tomato
skies...

Oh my gosh!
Utter bosh...
Waves swash,
Watery slosh,
Simply awash,
Auto wash...
Oughta quash?
Lost me galosh!
That's not posh.
Put the kibosh-
Don't josh!...

                                             Glisten fluid slosh,
                                 Plunging, hurtling, misting beads,
                                          Scouring stone shapes....

Rainy Play Day
Slosh Sploshes
in my Galoshes
reveling in the rain

Muddle Muck
I am a Duck
and cannot be contained

Flap Slap
something Madcap
waddling soaking wet

My mother says
I am the Muddiest
thing she has ever met!...

Mud Fun
Slush, slosh, marching in the goo,
Put on your boots and I'll march with you!
Squish, squash, making funny noise,
Mud was made for us girls and boys!
Slush, slosh, marching in the goo,
Doo doo-doo doo doo-dee, doo doo dee-doo!...

Similes For An Apathetic Perspective
the words sting on the way down
burn my throat
like tequila without a chaser
and slosh in the belly of my soul

"I don't want you anymore"

awaken the dull ache
salt the wound that never heals
but like rain on a cloudy day
it's a familiar feeling...

‘Josh Kibosh’ who has only small-scale splash cash
looks for a young woman’s copious plash stash
when his hogwash commands dosh
Josh’s gluttonous slosh habits turn posh
so Madam transforms flash in his pan into pulp-mash

You
Your image is within me
So I can see you first thing
It’s on my computer
Because your eyes
Make me smile
When I walk
You slosh in my head
I feel sweet and pink
Cakes and ice-cream
Bring you to me
Coffee carries your scent
I imagine
My lady
My love...

Listen to poem:
tippy-toe tap tap
pitter-patter slosh
splish splosh, splash,
drip of tap
purr of cat
twits of bird chat
ratter tat, ratter tat
knocks on my door.
The unintended muse
was stifled
by the hiss of bliss
perusing the lines
while muffled mute,
ignoring
what was installed
between them,
instilled!...

The Radio
I hear bird like voices in his kitchen.
Imagine gulls nesting on counter-tops.

He's gone to Wisconsin
for the ice-fishing
but his radio plays on.

Sounds are snowing in his apartment,
melting ice puddles slosh.

Today, fish-bubbles surface
on frosted windows.

The radio paddles around -
squawks on....

Premium Member my dogs drink water
My dogs drink enough water
To fill up an oversized elephant
To drowned three camels
To sink a battleship

We cannot keep water in their bowls
And they have ten of them
Six inside
Four outside

I wish my dogs had trunks
They could water my flowers
Rescue neighbors from burning houses
I am surprised they do not slosh when they run...

Closing Up
There’s something acidic about this place,
bar stools slant toward an eroding floor,
poised to swallow a lazy armed
 mop stroke.
The man whistles through broken
teeth; the theme song of another
night wasted.
I stand up, slosh inside my
boots like the drink in my hand,
and sit back down into a
creaking nightmare.

Bob
i'm the dummy
she's the ventriloquist
she's the one
that moves my lips

my words
are defined
by her

i'm a vessel for
her to fill

to overflowing

i keep babbling
even when she's
drinking
wine

though my words
slur to slow
showing

sign of
dribble

from my mouth

i was never
one to hold
my liquor
but she

holds me
up and keeps
me propped

so i can
slosh my

drunken thoughts...

My Dad As Blue Winged Teal
My Dad as Blue Winged Teal

Life support had made him
fetal, feeding on O2
hissed through tangled tubes.
I signed my name
and click, he gasped, folding
like a shotgunned duck.
Then I passed out
and watched him
in the wind stropped rain,
thin hair plastered drip
drip slick, green split-
back gown untied,
slosh and lift,
gown-wings flapping.

Racing for shelter, we defy the rain, our hearts a-song
The heavens open, we slosh, slide and splash along
Shaking our hair, water everywhere, we are free
To laugh, to live, to love, to be ourselves finally

Drenched to the marrow, we no longer care
We're alive now, soaked but thriving in downpour's air
We see who we are, the water's washed away our veneer
Baring exultant, triumphant souls, who passion's perils now dare...

Mystery Walk
In the summer twilight
A gargoyle silhouette yawns
A rat scuffles with something in
The lavish undergrowth
Gravel crunches under foot and
Grasshoppers click their brittle wings

Watered thoughts slosh in my Head
As I walk amongst the darker trees

Magic mystery minces me and musters
Moving fantasy!
Shards of light flash in my mind
Shining up some homid kind
I see the Garou running free, howling!

Gravel crunches under foot
I continue walking....

Choices
I choose to believe you're smiling
Somewhere on a cloud
Sharing a joke with Nan and Lil
I hear you laugh out loud

I choose to believe you're happy
Somewhere in the sky
Playing games with Grandad Joe
I see you wink your eye

I choose to believe you're dancing
Somewhere by the moon
Teaching the slosh to Auntie Eve
I sing you a little tune

I choose to believe you're living
Somewhere near a star
Hanging out with those we love
I feel you aren't that far...

Sea Dogs
the sea is high and running
sails are fighting for the shore
skippers in their shrimp boats
are hauling in

blow wind blow
none of us are sailors here
we are washed up on this Tiki bar
mugs foaming and topped to the brim
Umbrella drinks fizz and tipple
oysters and crabs
salting our ready tongues

if the night leaves us a roof
to drink under
if the sky don't drown
or waves don’t slosh and spray

we will untangle all our nets
so torn by frets
and row this rollicking night away...
