Premium Member Sleepy Eyed Cat
Sleepy eyed cat was ready for a winter’s nap.
She watched her mama carefully, waiting for a snap.
That’s when the book fell to the ground and she knew
Her mama was asleep, so she could be too....

The Sixth Trumpet Oops False Alarm
My God I thought Christ had just returned...I was in a dead sleep when one of the cats jumped up on this 300 button multi function electric Casio keyboard and caused it to play a church organ demo...trumpets and all...on volume level 14. As I was frantically searching for the on/off button my daughter Violet walked in all sleepy eyed and asked..Daddy, why are you playing the piano in your underwear again?...

Too Scared To Walk
I didn't want to leave your side
But tomorrow
Was too close to view

Still in euphoria
Until I will wake up
Without you

So I let you sleep
Tucked you in
All safe and sleepy eyed

I am so glad dreams found you
Rather than the mess of me
And the tears I cried

Wanted to pluck up the courage
To wake you
Say we needed to talk

But as always the baby
I resume my crawling
Too scared to walk...

Longing For the Moon and the Stars In the Sky
So cometh the morn the Sun shall arise

Breaking at dawn, unveiling blue skies

Those of the darkness hurry away

Not for them the bright light of day,

Sleepy eyed, we stir from our beds

Sweet dreams and phantoms flee from our heads,

As our world awakens the nocturnal hide

For they long for the Moon, and the stars in the sky.

Sleepy Eyed Poem
Sleepy set of eyes
Awoke to write
A little blurry they still type
Through a sleepy set of eyes
Blinking once blinking twice
These eyes adjust
Helping to read and think
Sinking each word into works
Beginning to see the envisioning
Of a poem forming
Adjustment period of sleepy eyed me
Moment when I awake for clarity
To blink once, blink twice then three
Clearing all blur from sleepy eyed me

A Night Worker Awakes
As I slip awake this frosty morn
Heart feeling heavy, I don't know why
Blinking sleepy eyed,a little confused
Bed clothes contorted somewhat awry

Realizing I have more nights off work
Warms my heart with a smile debuting
Sleep leaves the eyes of my disguise
Of a man that knows just what he's doing

I'm greeted warmly by my sweet wife
Who hands me coffee she made for me
This is the best way to start the day
With Love and coffee don't you agree?...
