The Roles Have Been Reversed

If no strong breeze will oblige
Help those boys, girls
Dare to climb it, what's to twist, pull
Tree, of sweets full.

That role, the hero's playing
Reversed has been!
A leg up, into high office
Success-fruiting's
Now given them! Poor mockers of
Child's life-tasting's!

How roles may turn

One was trained
To be the king of the table
One was bred
To be the king of the dead

Hand in hand, down the path they walk
Hand in hand, watching the future they sought
Flash by
In the blink of an eye

The king of the dead is surrounded by the table
And the king of the table is surrounded by death

Roles Reversed

As I look to the darkened sky,
a fallen angel in disguise
held me down around the halo,
I fell and drowned into their eyes.

Deepest notions of sentiment,
unearth the thoughts I have sent.
A candle burning through the night.
Is my mind broken? While yours is bent?

I need to change this skin tonight.
I'll take yours, it fits just right.
Roles reverse, I float away.
While you stay grounded, so sleep tight.

Reverse Roles

Someone lead me,
I need a leader.
I'm sick of being in charge.
Sick of being confident.
Sick of being positive.
Sick of being funny.
Sick of being deep.
Take my role for a change.
I perceive all of your options,
Now it's your turn.
Protect me, be my guardian,
Tell me everything is okay.
I do it to you,
You owe me.
Fight off the negatives thoughts
invading me as I do the same.
Be the oasis in the desert.
Be my leader for a change.

Premium Member Haiku For No Reason

no cell phone service
in most of the universe
may make you nervous

original sin
where building of guilt begins
doubts start to creep in

autonomy should
not require lobotomy
only common sense

factoring our roles
finding poverty of soul
digs very deep holes

claim open season
for attacks upon reason
let's untruth sneak in

based on pure meanness
or simple inconvenience
words come between us

a haiku a day
may chase the doldrums away
no bills will they pay
