Roles Reversed

As I look to the darkened sky, a fallen angel in disguise held me down around the halo, I fell and drowned into their eyes. Deepest notions of sentiment, unearth the thoughts I have sent. A candle burning through the night. Is my mind broken? While yours is bent? I need to change this skin tonight. I'll take yours, it fits just right. Roles reverse, I float away. While you stay grounded, so sleep tight.

Ooooh, this is such a deep and compelling poem, Emma. Love the way you describe the role reversal with the fallen angel. Especially the line about your mind being broken while the angel's is bent. Truly outstanding! Love, Carolyn
