No Regrets

Maybe I'll stick my tongue out at you
Maybe you'll shoot me a bird.

Discard your seven of diamonds.
I'll discard my black three.

Revved up corvettes
Thought I'd never forget

Glad I didn't tattoo then.

Monday Girl

I’m a Monday girl
waking with the Sun.
Revved up and ready,
just give me coffee.
Ambition on fire.

I will show you
what I can do.
I was resting
now I’m solid.

In the air
it begins,
a vision.

Ready
to press

start.

Racing

racing burning rubber smoke rolling from hot slicks watching the track, at starting line signals turning from red, yellow, then green engine revved up, dumping the clutch leg shaking, tires squalling quickest wins first racing

Him Again

When the biting slap of recognition impacts, unbridled eternity springs forth, as Emily Dickinson's "Wild nights" rides the wave in front of me.
He's back again, this time with whiskey breath and redneck vehemence, revved up to conquer.
Maybe this lifetime, a breadcrumb in the Sahara of the souls incessant trial,
just once the twins will meet as one.

Different Education

Night flights in the etheric realms, impart knowledge and swift wisdom, to the visionary soul. On astral exploits, outside of dreams, soul takes its classes and advances; in the studies it is awarded its medals and ribbons. We awake, fresh from class, vibrant with the drive to tackle the day; with engines revved; the race is easy to win; our tools, accessible within.

Just Lost It

A great poem began to twirl in my head
 and so, I revved the old pc keyboard up.
Thoughts and words flowed so I raced ahead
 but fingers too slow along the keys were plucked.
For a moment's hesitation gave a lengthy wait
 time to rewrite the sentence scrawled
but that arrow on the screen stayed in hesitate
 and waiting, waiting, it gave no play, and stalled
the words were locked without a full view of the wall
 then reboot came and I just lost it all.

Morning Noises

Police and fire sirens blare
An early emergency somewhere

Neighbor’s water squeaking thro’ the pipes
Two cats clawing each other’s stripes

Traffic hums and honks, tires squeal
In such a hurry…what’s the big deal?

Mower of lawns and whacker of weeds
Garbage man missed: in-reverse beeps

Nearby pickup started and revved up loud
I’m not quite used to this urban crowd

Cell phone buzzes, again I slap the snoozer
I wonder: would I prefer a rooster?

Dream After the Death of a Friend

I dreamed I was hanging out with Darroll near the train station. We entered a prison cafeteria and ate lunch. Then we looked in a junk store and I found two really cool vintage iron tools which I gave Darroll for his rusty iron tool collection (which, in my dream, he had). At some point a big book shelf fell over. We did some other stuff and then it was time for him to go so he revved up his shoes, leaned forward, and sped away to the sound of a pair of tiny lawnmowers.

A Weirdy Cat Week

I would have less surprised if they had chased down religious mothers
And murdered them in their carpeted hymn singing churches
They were frenzied, fanatically incensed, a revved up mob
Brains had been overturned by the whip tongue of the outgoing czar.
Blood splatters on the pristine building left a fleshy carnage.
Who has the noose?
Where is the vice president?
Steal and loot. Plunder. Pillage.
An insurrection no one can be proud of, making it a weirdy cat week.

Lost Soul

I drove around,
just hoping to bump into you;
I woke up jumped in the car
revved that engine up,
headed anywhere;
 Trying to find you;
I drove through parking lots,
I looked at every sign,
I drove around
endless circles
you never left my mind;
Tears in the car
wishing I could only find you;
I looked at the phone,
started to call you;
Choked before the ring,
 My hands wouldn’t stop shaking,
and I just kept driving around;
Praying I’d bump into you.

Revved Up

It was getting dark.
The insane curve of greed was rising.
I would not draw the boundaries
between the words.

The finch was immersed
in soliloquies and light was waiting
inside the seeds.

I open my eyes
and yell at the clouds in hyperboles
becoming stranger to myself.

Who belongs here
in slit eyes ? Each flower was leaving
a blemish, for the winter.

Tell me,
who you are in the twist of reality.
A proverb is going to be taken away.
