Hermit

Barefoot on river rock
his soles squeeze out a sigh.
One foot, the next, and
then again the first.
The flesh’s whispered prayer
revisits metamorphosis
grown cold. Oh, it rises
bone by bone. His vesper’s
arched in stone.

Premium Member Thought of the day

memory revisits the erased past
who does it address: ego or our soul
let this not become the ego’s repast
lest we are deflected from our life’s goal
which is rekindling light scriptures extol
simply present in thought rested silence
our soul’s shielded from thought borne violence

Premium Member Sand Castle

Sand castle on the shore
proudly standing tall
building it was a chore
during the heavy rainfall

Little banners are waving
from each of its turrets
the weather they are braving
as the single child revisits

The sea now rushing forward
each wave causing more damage
as they keep rolling onward
relentless invasive wreckage

Soon it lays in total carnage
just prism sands once more
left behind by the sea's voyage
no sign of the castle there before
sea
