Sand Castle

Sand castle on the shore
proudly standing tall
building it was a chore
during the heavy rainfall

Little banners are waving
from each of its turrets
the weather they are braving
as the single child revisits

The sea now rushing forward
each wave causing more damage
as they keep rolling onward
relentless invasive wreckage

Soon it lays in total carnage
just prism sands once more
left behind by the sea's voyage
no sign of the castle there before

Shadow What a unique and creative write. You brought the reader through the "life" of this castle as if we were right there making it ourselves. Nice job Thanks for the sweet comment on my Christmas Tale poem. Hugs

love this write, bringing back childhood memories of a holiday by the sea - and my shock that my sandcastle was gone in the morning
