faint light
with warm beacon
soft breathing fills the still room,
where our shadows reheat as one
sinking in sweet content
Mr. Cat sits in his chair
with all that he could need:
a pot of tea and cup nearby
and a little book to read.
But oh! He needs his spectacles.
Too small is his book’s print.
While looking for his spectacles,
he grabs himself a mint.
Ah, now the cat is comfortable.
But the tea’s no longer hot.
“My oh my,” whines Mr. Cat.
“I must reheat my pot!”
