brought up by wolves,
rode upon on the back of Great White
across the Atlantic.
Base-jumped off Mount Rainier
wearing only a jock-strap
in winter.
His pals would smile knowingly,
accepted his every wild exaggeration,
for after all
he was a poet.
It's my first love he said,
majestic Tahoma*

*Mount Rainier is called Tahoma by Native American tribes.Tahoma translates to "mother of waters".

When I was little I heard grown-ups
talk about the mountain erupting,
but it was Rainier they feared,
they didn't suspect the quiet sister
of harboring the earth's hot passion~
until that May morning when her face exploded
in a bitter blast of deep-held rage.
Remembering the eruption of Mount Saint Helens May 18, 1980. It was a terrifying beautiful awesome event.

Taste the sweet meat of
Prunus avium - Bing,
Sweetheart, Rainier, Tulare
the tart, the sweet
the redness - a treat
A bowl, a bag,
by hand-to-mouth
to suck - to chew
to rave - to espouse
