Puffballs ring the forest evergreens;
In the peripheral they dance;
Flickering energy lights
Bobbing magic specters
Woodland fairies work
Their magic with
Delightful
Mystic
Ease.
Fledglings
downy puffballs
of yellow-white feathers
sporting beaks of orange-yellow
discover the joy of liquid raindrops
cascading down from trees to leaves
mastering their art fast
precious offspring
fledglings
Catapulting puffballs roam
vast stretches of ocean;
skeletal limbs reveal
stories lost to time;
rooted sage
taking in the salty air;
lungs filled to capacity,
give birth to
tenderness beneath
heaven’s breast;
life does not end,
it only renews.
In an Elysian wood,
flitting faeries
among the trees
ponder their
magical seeding,
for a fairy ring
they’ll build,
within the greenwoods
emerald sea.
Moss-laden ferns
feathery light,
help feed faerie magic
late at night growing fungi,
puffballs round,
a faerie ring,
inedible magic.
