Abstinence
I
predictably
made you accustomed
to my love
with daily and intense doses
of passion, enchantment
beauty and magical chaos
so
one day
I could kill you
like an addict dies;

in pain.

I've noticed,
As our economic and politically empowered
too consistently lead with their Right,
All us non-elite women
people of color
LGBTQ
and indigenous people
predictably lean to our Left

To find a space
where we feel safer,
and a sacred place
where we might imagine
our lives actually matter....

Simplicity
Clarity is lost when good
escapes an easy definition,
and bad is not predictably
a cowboy dressed in black.

Complexity confounds, from losing
innocence to courting possibilities,
from childhood's casual cakewalk
to the forced march of responsibilities,
the blurring of all boundaries,
the complications of a simple yes or no.

Simplicity has yes written all over it....

Clarexicity
CLARITY is lost when good
escapes an easy definition,
and bad is not predictably
a cowboy dressed in black.

COMPLEXITY confounds, from losing
innocence to courting possibilities,
from childhood's casual cakewalk
to the forced march of responsibilities,
the blurring of all boundaries,
the complications of a simple yes or no.

SIMPLICITY has yes written all over it....

Poem Iii

I liked scribbling
Hearts symbolising,
Two intertwined in one,
In love,
As a mindless scribble,
Absentmindedly;
But now presentmindedly,
I craft this heart, thinking
Not of the new season
In favour of the physics lesson,
But of you, in favour of
A predictably broken heart.
And I wish I could go back to scribbling,
On a cracker nibbling,
The hearts symbolizing
But not meaning anything
To me, intimately.

Paisley bow-tie
  orange socks
polka-dot knickers
  suspenders dangling

Crazy Marvin's
  testing 'wonder-drugs'
to get his bank
  account jangling

Clouds of smoke
  puffs of steam
strange whistles
  bells jangling

Delirious, dizzy
  all in a tizzy
Marvin's predictably
  mangling

A formula for
  the tutti-frutti, raspberry
bubble-gum serum
  he's angling

To shove down
  my throat ~
Help me!
  I'm strangling...
