Watercolor Nightmare
Pardon for fingers
Body painting my fixed face—
Marking up a scene
Of raw phantasms that look
Like they're falling for my tears....

Skies cast an opaline tone on the periwinkle From the outbreak of numbness In the clangorous concord of the brain Phantasmagoric cosmos of phantasms Fully loosened by pennilessness and distress Where genuine life dwells just as a nightmare Strident sound singing a somber song

Premium Member It's a Strange Place
It's a very strange place
when in dreams I chase
phantasms,
a figmant of imagination,
or an apparition of warning
from my soul,
seeing what is hidden
from the light
of day.

It's a very strange place
and only an illusion
of madness
overtaking all the senses,
crossing the line
of reality
into the realm of shadows
that only I can
dream.

Ring
Plain emptiness,
where I touch an ebony
diamond, only gives
me edges— wiped in my
macadam; heartache an
old rust from repetitious
beats

the faceted phantasms
link, perhaps to mask
their face— or mine;
light just off within
its sides— all my
fingers stream sanguine,

no fit for the hollows
on my face, madness
glitters— and so drags
my shadow's shadow—
like far wishes took from life....

Drugged Apparition
Quixotic reality to flatter your mind,
Your eyes so wintry scour a soul so dark,
A bleeding corpse on a pyre, fragile,
Unclad midnights against a wall so cold,
Touched and drugged by fears foretold,
Halucinations and reminiscence of a body made stark,
Her hands clap to the trance of tragedy, a trance too bold,
Memories and phantasms deluged one of their kind.

My Own God
Everyday's life, black disguise
I meet myself, can't recognize.
carnival glasses, phantasms trod
in love I find, small piece of God.

Foggy air sails, no patch of land
I meet myself, can't understand
High and low, I venture abroad
in love I find, small piece of God.

Thanks in prayers, I say no please
all forgiven, heart is at ease
I come to terms, even and odd.
In love now I find, my own God....

Cold wins blow across
My weary bones
Feathered icicles
Hanging high above home
Downey woodpecker
Eating a suet mix
Nature’s inadequacy
For a protein fix
Cats watch behind
Glass doors
Phantasms erupt
On litter laden floors
Feathered shadows
Creeping in my door
Sultry winter
Crystal icicles
Creatures on my floor
Warming sun
Shrinks the creatures range
Infatuation of darkness
Mentally so strange...

Covid-19: We Will Survive Together
A miasma, death throes, rot,
Dark, cloudy minds, depriver.
Unseen foe, a viral bot,
Life taker, a death harbinger.

Uncontrollable spasms,
Unimaginable fears.
Unstoppable phantasms,
Hunting all of our dears.

So small it is, so deadly,
Invisible, a murderer.
Mankind wails so mournfully,
a small, sinister curdler?

On this terrestrial spaceship,
We dare to stand together.
And push this nefarious blip,
Extinct once and for ever....

Listen to poem:
These shadows stack upon themselves
by the glare of the many suns
each an orb the would blind
those who seek to hold the light

the relentless is defied
gloom gathered to reconcile
where the bright dominates
the opposite seeks to relate

phantasms asking for their time
these residents of darker realms
shades inclined to ask their due
after joy has ruled the world

one or another must exist
lest the balance fall aside
asking all to take a side
or walk between dark and light....
