The Chickadee
Dancing nimbly on the boughs

His song insouciant and joyous

Feathers resplendent with colour

Dappled with the paling light...

Early Spring
Rusty glow hovers—
setting sun’s wan glint
yields to grasp of night—
terms of surrender, resolute.

Halfway round the compass rose,
paling rays summon fleeting
alpenglow, fading echo of
dwindling winter snow....

Oh, thou art of the greatest mystery,
an enigma of time and place and space
flitting with ethereal quality.
Mind not paling stars that surround this place.
They languish in comparison to thee,
whose soul reflects from thy radiant face....

Premium Member October Ushers Autumn
Month Ten ushers in a lustrous mystique
Where the blooming of hues unfold at last
As October lacquers tall elms quite sleek
     An autumn’s radiant view unsurpassed
By other cycles, their tints paling fast.

Premium Member The Fabric of Summer
With melancholic fortitude
   I suffer Summer's threadbare wane
Though just a stitch of Autumn's gown
Shows through these tepid, shorter days
      The weave of sultry memories
Drapes warm nostalgia on my heart
I'll wear this paling green till frost

By the Window Stair
up by the window stair
the night owl screeches by
out in the opal night
stretching across the sky

up by the old tin roof
i hear the lady call
out in the darkest night
she bids me to fall

up by the paling moon
when the nightly death does spake
out in the cold cold night
the lady comes my soul to take...

Wiedersehen In Howards End
Rome.Open city.
Unreal with paling light,
singular with stone and ochre.
Gods dyed with dust,
the unquiet dead corded
with white marble.

Heaven`s steps so cruel with belief.

My hotel.Forster. Only connect.
Words cool and dry,
the idea of a lost kingdom.

Far from the noise of this,
in shade,under pines....

Fast Mind In a Dim Room
The room is empty but for shadows
My mirror is reflecting the setting sun
See clearly
How flowers shrink
And the spark is leaving

Targets are in reach
But the mind runs slow
Everything is achieved
And now my skills decay

But the sight is widening
And details appearing
Senses awakening
Even though
The bright is paling...

Thorneless Flowers
Frail, delicate, beautifully tender
Steals into life a thornless flower.
Bereft, hopeless craves for a mother
Cursed, gets spleen, lifelong hunger

Heinous, uncaring nature to discover
Sprouting up into a paling color
Precious dreams slowly melt into vapor
Bleak , sorely dying stalks wither

Soft fry, street old stager
lives and dies, utter stranger....

An Endless Chase
Endless Chase

Dreams broken
Anthills of fear lurking
Failing forward
Nothing to lean on
The walls crack
Sorrows rack
Musing dryness
Patience
Paling
Oceans of nothingness travailing
Hopelessness hatching
Triggers pulling
Death beckoning
Casket lower
Thresholds folding
Priest dusting dust
Vanity looming
Eternity an endless chase...

The Birth of Dawn
Dawn's new light bursts forth from pillowed dreams in bubbling chatter of birds and bees breezing by morning glories in praise of first sky. As paling stars fall silent in sleep beyond a darkened moon, I admire the miraculous birth of new day perfected by God's hands. Autumn in the leaves
Speckling change
with crisping dew
when a season done
with green
(as earth's sky
paling blue)
putting to rest
the old
making way
for God's new;

I finger the age-spots...

other blemishes
nature's obvious rots--

preparing for
again our spring
touching the ring
I still wear
for cherish--
such vows
were never made
to perish

I rewrite, with death
we do not part

for no temporary
a true heart.......

Eve outlines the curves of an old terrain, where antique bottles in their moonlit sheen reflect pillars’ glow…now mildly unseen from vintage halls of paling, roughened grain: All through this vine-clad manor’s dusky shade poses outside its elegant fig tree-- Which attests to a once- royal marquee this landmark, our own hometown’s proud arcade. Sahara Doom Scape
I.

Whitening sands upmirror desert glare,
Glinting, underneath my mind’s burnt sun…
Paling, dream expanse.
And there I wander, rootless in some Netherwhere—
Mental vagabond, my trek begun…
Picaresque romance!

II.

Whitening bones appear by poison springs,
Dread oasis, tempting me to drink.
Shining, silver pool,
Mirage aglow. A maiden floats on glassine wings—
Beckoning me toward the toxic sink.
Reckless, I sip cool
Blighted waters. Thirsty fool....
