The Fabric of Summer

With melancholic fortitude
   I suffer Summer's threadbare wane
 Though just a stitch of Autumn's gown
Shows through these tepid, shorter days
      The weave of sultry memories
   Drapes warm nostalgia on my heart
     I'll wear this paling green till frost
