Sky

Dark blue

A lone cloud

Floats by on distant

winds. Silver edges surround a

blackened and overloaded with a saved spring shower.

eyes observing, searching.

Lake below, surface calm,

Tiny ripple, silver flash,

Extended talons swooping down.

Prey ensnared, life expired,

Soaring upward, eagle wings.

Rugged mountain nest on high,

Ravenous young, sumptuous bounty,

Shimmering scattered silver scales.

A testament to

Nature’s glory,

Nature’s cruelty.
