Today
today can be a great day
we can't relive the past
we can only live for what may happen
inner peace can only come
when we master a belief
that our lives are not in our hands
and the relief of serenity comes...

Puppet
I wake up everyday, hoping it will be better than
the last.
Everyday, just the same.
Pulling my strings to get me going.
My master, a cruel man.
Yanking me around and round.
I'm a puppet.
An old torn useless,
Puppet....

Spirit Animal Wolf
man and beast travel along gentle moon lit path,
pink land of enchantment shown in mind eye fair,
neighboring warriors sleeping off their wrath
ethereal future battle in the air,
spirit animal gives master a knowing stare...

Ted
seeking warmth of blanket
and sun, Minnesota coated
with snow and ice. cockapoo
paws the window, stretches

at footfall on the front porch.
father of his master, a stranger
not yet accepted into the pack.

EARTHLY VANITIES
What drives
the human heart
to chase and grasp
at fleeting high
living lives of shallow praise?
It’s a shame

weighed down by thoughts
with not even a car
to keep them company
on the long, lonely road away....

A Zebra Might Rim Ram Roo
Assuring a zig-zagging zebra a zinc zim-bam-boo
without cash, is so brash! As then you will have to give two.
Insuring a zoo master a zebra might rim-ram-roo
Practically tantamount to mashing a crashing bamboo.
As if you need any more trouble, my quim-quam-quaroo.
On your dash I shall lash a mashed mangled measly mad macaroo.
A sillier more gnashy poem I could try to get you.
But first let me throw in some trash, and a rash for us two....

Wordsworth
You have engraved my heart
with the nib of your pen dipped in ink
I never would be one to don a tattoo
but you colored me up before I stopped to think
Irregular beating and vascular crunch
slipped over beautiful walls
Adrenaline master, a natural disaster
responding to each of your calls
Whisper my name in your most fitful sleep
eyes twitching, light of the moon
My heart will respond yet in kind to your voice
with a beating of words to resume....
