the sun at twilight
leaving a trail of beauty
like smoke from incense

scarlet macaw flight
through deep green on verge of dusk
indigo follows

mysterious bug
fireflies twinkle all the June

Tko
I could hear my heart
I could barely see
Didn’t know my part
Hazy memory
Finches in the bush

Flashes of light
Flock of macaw
Gaining eye sight
Molten lava

Sparkling
Soda pop
Fogged window

Relaxed
Vibrant

Ouch

Premium Member Which Bird Shall I Be
Which flying bird shall I choose to be?
Would Bird of Paradise suit me?
Owl, falcon or hawk might be fun.
Bohemian waxwing is on the run.
Trumpeter Hornbill or Military Macaw?
King vulture or Jackdaw?
Flamingo with her peachy color?
I can’t decide. I’ll ask my mother....

Premium Member Blue and Gold Macaw
Blue and gold Macaw,
bright butterscotch belly up,
kicks and squawks excitedly
beneath human hands
which give playful tummy rubs!

(I saw a video of this friendly smart
bird enjoying a rubdown from his owner!)

Scarlet Macaw
I am the scarlet parrot from the Amazon,
Intelligent, beautiful, passionate,
Trapped in a cage too small for my wings.

Bored,
With nothing but a pretty bell
To keep me entertained.

Lonely,
With nothing but a mirror
To keep me company.

Hungry,
With nothing but a sprig of millet
To keep me sustained.

Craving fascination.
Craving love.
Craving life....

The Landing
For a full day
The ships travelled,
under golden sun

The cloud came in to view
The island emerged
Deep green under a mantle of white
Instinctively they knew..
That this was right

Nearing the shore,
they could hear the sound of birds
See the colours too
Flocks of macaw

The ships anchored in the bay
The Faeries flew,
through trees and woods
Exploring too...

My Dear Parrot
My sweet bird Makkie
Is a blue and gold macaw
She is large and beautiful
With soft fluffy feathers
She has a black beak
Which she tears things with
She chases people’s toes
And rides the dog
She does not like flying
She is more comfy on
Someone shoulder
It can hurt.
But it is worth it.
She is calm and tiresome.
But sweet and calm.
She can be mean,
Mainly to others
She does not know....

Premium Member What Can You Peppermint Angels Do
Peppermint Christmas angels were doing the cha cha cha.
“What else can you do?” Asked a pinecone name of McGraw.
We can do the petootsie dance, and we can tease our maw.
“What else can you do?” asked a prissy critical macaw.

“We can twirl and spin, and we can make delicious coleslaw.
We can play racquetball and we can spot an editorial flaw.
We can peel potatoes in a fancy way if you get them raw.
We are pretty talented,” said the angels, and we can draw.”...

Premium Member A Little Reverse Bird Watching
I think I will do a little reverse bird watching today
This was said by our friend Amy, she is merry and gay.
What is it exactly? I asked, truly intrigued by the term.
Come by at two, she said. “But that time has to be firm.”

I stopped by and stared, not believing what I was seeing.
Pelican, macaw, flamingo and toucan were all tee-heeing.
Studying people and laughing at them, all around the block,
When ostrich and seagull joined them, they were quite a flock....

Premium Member Blue
Blue the color of the brilliant boundless sky
To look at the heavens with a heartfelt sigh.

Blue of the vast briny ocean
Teeming with marine life always in motion.

Blue feathers of an iridescent hummingbird,
Large Blue Macaw parrot or beautiful musical bluebird.

Blue spring vibrant Empire Blue Butterfly Bush
   Attracting winged pollinators scented cush.

Blue color gives out a feel of peace, tranquility,
   And quiescence serenity.
