King Of Beasts

Truth
a heavy burden
speaking loudest
from exile

The distance
and confinement
like a magnet
to iron

Imploding
within you
when ready
for travel

The weight
of
delivery
— the roar of the lion

Large muscular strong cat
Labeled as king of beasts
Lives in grassland in pride
Lavish mane crown male dons
Lumbers elegantly
Labors hunting in night
Lunges at prey’s neck.

To Ghostemane

You said, you’re a beast,
Well me,
I’m the king of beasts .
But I’ll turn into a servant,
And you’ll become a prince.
Then you will let me
Put a thin strand of almost white hair
Behind ear,
I’ll clearly see,
Your beautiful face
And the green of your eyes.
I will love them
As i loved those,
Which were calling “fear”.

Beast King

You have named me
The king of beasts
Where crown and sceptre
Hold no tyrants court.
Only balanced nature
Where evolution thrives
Knows I have my place.
I break the chain
Which signifies no title,
Only by weaker link
So life may forge a
New bond to become.
Who shall be called beast
When you are regicide
And life is no more.

The Lion With The Marmalade Eyes

Fierce king of beasts with amber gaze,
His eyes were like sunrise through a morning haze.
Orbs of honey, sweet yet wild,
Nature's artwork, is chaste.
Pools of golden nectar gleam,
In which savanna's secrets teem.
Windows to a soul of fire,
Reflecting courage, strength, and desire.
This majestic cat, with marmalade sight,
Rules his realm from dawn to night.

The long flowing white mane
Reminiscent of a satin bridal train
Fierce blue eyes
Watching the plain, a pantherine spy
The king of beasts
The felidae feasts
Daniel's cell mate
Still the beauty of that mane
Flowing white into space
In the background the band plays*
Seducing each estrus lioness
a king's queen's compliance
It's all about the mane
So fly that freak flag

Premium Member Who Can Fault That?

Casual lion lounges in his 70’s jacket
It is made of velvet, not velveteen
Softer than his mane if you can believe it
We wait for his words of wisdom
He is the king of beasts and of the forest

The waiting goes on for a long time
He has relinquished his rights to hyena
The animal who thinks everything is funny
Who can fault that? Asks the zebra.
More evidence that…
buffoons and clowns always run for office.

Premium Member The Pride

The lion's thunderous roar breaks the dawn
As creatures begin to stir on the plains
To the water's edge they soon will be drawn

To quench their thirst, and their life to sustain
 Lionesses gather to ambush prey
In the tall grass, in silence they remain

 Suddenly the attack is underway
As frightened creatures scatter far and wide
An zebra's caught, the first meal of the day

Over these plains the king of beasts presides
And his mighty roar echoes through the pride
