My friend is queen of social media USA
Did you know….
Your goddaughter has lice?
Your mother is keeping a man on the side?
Your brother had peanut butter pancakes for lunch?
The queen spends eight to ten hours a day
Reading about what others had to eat
What restaurants they are visiting
Who they are having elicit relationships with
I am glad to not be part of this weird culture.
My goddaughter searched
A sight on line found
Puppies from a farm
A short drive away
The puppies lined up
To see what to choose
Two females one male
A hard choice to make
She chose the male dog
My goddaughter has
One female and male cat
When they met the dog
The female greeted
The male ran upstairs
He was so angry
He hid in the room
His feelings hurt
The puppy was there
A puppy to to stay
I desire nothing from you
just let me watch you wake with the sun
laugh with the rustle of the wind
that messes your auburn hair
that, my dear little one,
is enough to take me through
the years. And the memory
of all this combined shall take
me far through forever---
After you have gone riding on a star.

For my favorite goddaughter

Little girl, how you glow,
How much love you have, your never truly know.
As your godmother I promise, I will always help you grow,
Forever by your side,
That’s all you need to know.
My love with never dwindle,
My feelings will only grow,
For I promise you my little princess,
I will never let you go.
Spread your wings in this wide world, and follow all your dreams,
As this my darling is your time to really set them free.
Beautiful and kind
She does not know
Reasons for hurting
As she rapidly grows
I remember the little tomboy
Dressed in tees and tennis shoes
Vowing she’d never give into
Societal prissy views
But give in she did
As the child became a teen
Astounding beauty with a purpose
Still trying to remain unseen
My niece and my Goddaughter
A special place already set aside
For my little boisterous tomboy
Inside my heart you’ll forever reside
