Dampened
the glimmer
is lost from skies
and eyes 

this dampened ground
can’t  hold anymore tears 
than my pillow can 

i am lost
somewhere
in the fogginess
of another somber rise 

grounded hope
dissipating 
in uncertainty 
as I stand alone
in this rain
watching streams
flow down lonely streets
where shadows once fell

cracks hidden within
like society these days

the fathomage
of thoughts falling
from fogged mind
are thickset
like september air

i shiver beneath
its imponderous touch
as memories awaken
before the dawn

i am flushed
in crimson tones
as the horizon blushes
in similar hues

I watch thoughts
and darkness
fade out
beyond the screams
of awakening birds
as if carried
on the beat of their wings
the crescendo of night's winds
become mere whispers
stilled like hushed thoughts
as the fog lifts...
