This week's to-do-list
is trying to wrap myself
with everydayness,
just to hide myself from the
vivid memory of yours.

They show things
I never thought were worth showing.
Yet here they are proving me wrong.
It seems we walk the same paths,
see world in the same colors
and have hearts pumping blood
in the same rhythm.
While I'm spinning
and spilling words,
they're being gods.
Making me smile by painting the "everydayness"
at an angle only they can see.

Within the moving mirror of life
I'll often lose my face
And pebbles I've collected in my hands
Dust into the air like meaningless seekers
Like the lot of us
Who have trouble settling into the everydayness
Where clouds reflect over water
Where my face becomes a grander sum of the self
Where nothing ever dies
And what's lost is nudged by nature
to be found in the puddles where clouds live.
