Yo Mama (Where Clouds Live)

Within the moving mirror of life
I'll often lose my face
And pebbles I've collected in my hands
Dust into the air like meaningless seekers
Like the lot of us
Who have trouble settling into the everydayness

Where clouds reflect over water
Where my face becomes a grander sum of the self
Where nothing ever dies

And what's lost is nudged by nature
to be found in the puddles where clouds live.

I just wanna say this is inspired by the great Tich Nacht Hahn. I was watching "Life of Buddha" and Hahn (who've I've already read and loved) goess off about the cloud in the water being proof that life (in buddhist terms) eternally passes on... I felt compelled to mention him.

Matt have entered your contest - the poem popped into my head after a couple of minutes and took me half an hour to write. Love your poetry. Never overstated and always brilliant. Kindest regards. Janette

We often lose parts of ourselves, but every thought and every action is recorded in the universal consciousness, Matt. Perhaps it is located in a place "where clouds live." Very profound and beautiful write. Thought-provoking and a true gem to read. Love, Carolyn
