Premium Member My Hands
my hands work so hard
invaluable
and dependable
I need them daily
for every hobby

they like to paint
they can type too
garden and paint
draw up cartoons

amazing
marvelous
right and left

hand one
hand two

great!...

Premium Member To the Well
The well of blessing
be clear and open.
Every day
May we go to the well,
Let drop our weathered
   bucket of life,
   to be filled anew,
Then draw up its sweet
   joy of grace and being
   and drink,
Knowing that for today,
All we need
will be there for us....

Ode To Rob
I wanted to write a poem
with such music and guitars, strumming.
I tried at the teeth of the sound
to draw up legions of noise.
I tried at the breakwater
to catch the star off each ship,
and at the closing of my hands
I looked for their homes;
I looked for their silences.
I found just one.

I look for uncomplicated hymns, now,
 but love has none....

The Truth
The truth from Ruth to Luke, before and beyond,
It looks dark from here. Where the stars shine,
Under a hot glow of the sun, wine grapes swell.
Waters flow free and draw up into rain showers.
Soaking into the earth; into grains and flowers,
True beauty earns bronze and silver and golden.
With eyes seeing and a heart knowing, the soul
Sips wine and breaks bread living with His truth....

By Any Other Name
The river’s not really a river
‘Cause water can flow either way.
Right now it is tumbling downtown.
Tomorrow? I simply can’t say.

The jet skiers seem not to mind much;
The same for each tugboat or ferry.
I wonder if they’re all aware that
They’re riding a brisk estuary.

When mapmakers draw up their pictures,
Simplicity’s what they deliver.
It’s hard to say East Estuary,
So that’s why it’s called the East River....

The Darkest of Roses
To my corner I do retire
and pull the cover to my chest
I sit there and watch the fire
never to truly get my rest

Like the fire in my soul
the one who sits with me wains
and the air it is in becomes cold
the again in my heart.... pains.

I draw up inward,
I pull in fast
I reach my souls last shard,
hoping it can last.

The darkness does creep
and the quiet losses to thunder
I lay there calling sleep
Never again a peaceful slumber....

Toiling around the town I grew up in. Never knew there was another way. My footsteps followed those before, keeping my ship anchored at bay. Staring out on the horizon and noticing far off lands in the distance. Dreaming about a journey, but couldn't fathom risking my existence.

Maybe I can draw up a plan to get out there and discover. Stepping outside my comfort zone to see what I uncover. It's time to set sail and swing open a new door to unearth what I've been waiting to explore....
