"sssh!"
There was a pilot called bush
Who flew by the seat of his tush,
   His job was so tricky
   That he listened to dicky
And silenced his critics with shush!...

Richard Nixon was the president’s name
It was Watergate that brought him shame
They wanted to impeach him, the F.B.I.
But he resigned before they could try.

Wishing Well
Wishing Well

Sleep sweet Mary sleep
It'll be okay in the morning
Sleep little Dicky sleep
we can fix it all tomorrow
And we'll picnic by the cuckoo's nest
Shell hard boiled eggs in sun
Then once around the wishing well
before we all head home
Thread carefully the thistles deep
puff dandelion seeds along
With tired feet and sleepy heads
before we head on home...

Premium Member A Scampish Little Rascal Was He
A scampish little rascal was he.
Dancing truth on the silver sea.
Collecting nickels for his fee.
Slapping his tummy at the baby’s knee.

Singing loudly with yellow chickadee.
Using phrases like wanna-bee.
Living in sin was the key.
We called him little Dicky Dee.

Lived every single second with glee.
Was a friend to all you see.
Lived to be a ripe ninety-three.
What better scamp could ever be?...

Pussy You Know
Mine I know, yours I’m liking all the more
Mine likes chasing birds, yours likes a little dicky too
Mine likes playing with bunnies, yours is partial to a rabbit too
Mine likes being stroked, yours does too
Mine is all furry, yours was once too
Mine purrs away, yours lovingly murmurs along
Too much pussy I know
All a little bit catty but it’ll have to do
Say hello to Florence the pussy cat
Darling, do you name yours too?...

Premium Member Silhouette Begets Facets
Listen to poem:
I framed your silhouette
snapped from shadow
captured when I feigned
a photograph of your profile
in bright sunlight
with white wall behind.
I wanted an outline of you
in sharp contrast relief,
so my mind could fill in
all the details from memory
- a changing slide-show
  of images flipped through,
So much more revealing
of how much I love you
than an album
full of snap-shots frozen
- with smiles for the dicky bird,
lips pursed in faked poses....
