Boa
Like a boa constrictor
the intimations of mortality
remind me every day
not to take a backwards breath,
to keep my lungs filled
to the deepest point,
be open to the widest possibility,
replace each new disability
with a new ability,
and to rest, aware
that the damnable serpent
never does until
its eaten it's fill....

Damnable Thoughts
The curse of overthinking
is not failure,
misfortune or limitation
but in the disobedient
misery you cannot climb.
No pleasing in the paranoids
dive to the oil pits.
The more you prevent
the less interfearence,
but when it comes up
it brings cutlery
to sicken and harvest you,
the 9th eternity caused by lingering whisper....

Reverse Midas Touch
Such was his damnable gift
Being little more than a curse
Others he wanted to lift
His touch left them so much worse
His mind lacking all insight
Leaving so many disturbed
Utter wrong being his right
He blundered on unperturbed
Freedom his cry for Ukraine
That was the hope of Putin
All he delivered was pain
Just another Rasputin...

With Certainty I Am Not the Only One
SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE-ZEE
YOU’LL WIND UP BLACK AND BLUE IF YOU CALL HER A FLOOZIE
IN FRONT OF ME ONE HAD NEVER DARE CALL HER A DAMNABLE DOOZIE
AND EVEN WORSE I AM THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED FOR HER TO MAKE ME WOOZIE
THE HEADLINES THE NEXT DAY WOULD SCREAM “MAN ENDS UP BLACK AND BLUESIE”
BECAUSE I HAVE THE GREATEST RESPECT FOR THE POETRY OF MS. DEBBIE GOOZIE

Hold Fast the Rope
Tie him down,
Cement his shoes,
We must ensure his promises,
Are never followed through,
For he wages war,
On our house so flammable,
So we'll wreathe his noose,
With his actions so damnable,
Prepare him to march,
The people must witness,
The shame of a traitor,
And the price of resistance,
Pull the lever,
Before he inspires hope,
So that the masses won't save him,
By holding fast the rope....

You Are My Source
You are my source
My Zen
My love
A binding force.
This new year
Will be Ours.
A true love union
That follows an ugly divorce
You are , to me,
The absolute ultimate
In charm and in beauty.
The warmth radiates
When your presence is close.
As it becomes frigid
Without it I am a ghost.
An apparition
A failure
A shell
But your eyes
Fill my soul with hope
Save me from this damnable hell.

Veterans Day Any Day
Often a country will plough over its dead.
Flowers planted; parks landscaped
over the biographies of the brave.
To read the fallen, to honor the dead and the living
we must gouge out the forgetting,
shake the roots of heaven, name the roll call
of each damnable war one hero at a time,
one loss at a time -
for each survivor there is always some loss.
Bless the memory, write down the word 'freedom'
as if we who stay at home
had always fought for it....
