Spilling From You

Filling you so deep, Your soul clenches like a vice, As I spill from you. (c) 2015 PJ Bayliss

A Child's Wish

A dark night sky
Dotted with little bright specks
Aligned together
To create pictures and designs
A child looks
Up in awe
Sees a shooting star
At once he closes
His eyes tight
Clenches his fists
And hopefully whispers
I wish ...

Heart Broken Eternally

A sorrow sets in deep in the soul,
To love and not be loved back,
Is aa shattering agony deep within the soul spreading,
A poison that clenches at the soul,
Forming a pact to never love again.
But to let bitter hate control every day of your life.
Form: Ballad

Holocaust

My head hurts, my chest pounds
The men with guns all around
They frighten me, standing tall
I watch them, as they line us on a wall
One by one my heart clenches
As I see my people fall
And I know that I am next
Now the people watch, and their hearts clench
As I fall.

Short Lived

I laughed today,
in impetuous fits of giggles
that clenches the belly
and ignites every sense
as though it were kindling
with a spark big enough
for my heart to catch aflame

I felt alive, pretty, like a wildflower bloomed
in the wasteland of my soul,
but then I thought of you
and immediately wilted

Dying Sighs

She sighs,
clenches her fists,
and dies...

Again and again,
an incessant drumming
that pounds at almost midnight

uncaring, so loud, too loud
like those awful karaoke singers
 who think they can sing,
but of course can't

small parts of her die each time
she takes the time to think

she unclenches her fists
in silence

Show of Power

dog wags its tail and smiles
elephant shakes its ears
rat shakes its whiskers
lion waves its claws
tree shakes its branches
man clenches his fists
snake switches its fangs
soldier shakes his gun
flood breaks and rolls rocks
Who of these is powerful
enough to make the sun
to rise from West tomorrow
and set in the East each day?

A Broken Heart

Tear, tear the absent eyes. Shattered ears, shrieking cries! The punctured heart embraced the ever so swelling Soul. Fist clenches! Oh the throbbing, throbbing... heart, then Flame! - Engulfed by panic and darkness, whole. Passionate flares died, scattering in vain. An active heart, now left a crumbled piece of ember coal.

Water Into Wine

I am the darkness,
that kills the light.
I am the wrong,
that defeats the right.

As the sun goes down,
I begin to rise.
I boil the blood,
making your temperature rise.

I am the frustration,
that clenches your fist.
I am the bad,
that the good can't resist.

I am the spark,
I will ignite,
the fire of passion,
that controls your life.

Freedom

The barbs sat on the wire
Like the swallows before winter
Cold
But they cannot fly to warmer clime
As they are bound
To sit on the wire
Trapping the inmates
In the asylum called freedom
And as we live our lives
Behind barbed-wire fences
In the belief that we are free
We have to ask, as our hateful fist clenches
Is life about us or only about me?

Dreams of Death

I watch him sleeping
But know it's not peaceful
His body twitches in anticipation
As his dreams settle in

I am too scared to sleep
He needs me there
I don't want to miss him wake
In case it will be his last

A bead of sweat
Falls down his face
He clenches my hand tightly
Death is winning this time

My breath is short and shallow
I wake up screaming in pain
He is sitting there holding my hand
Watching me, holding back his tears.
