West the towers of old time are looming
Under autumn-colored sky that’s glooming
Grey at afternoon.
Slow we trudge the rocky trail unwinding,
Patient pilgrims bound for somehow finding
Sainted glory soon.
Up the path we stumble, foot sore, sick and bleeding
Questing anywhere our mad crusade is leading,
Towards the pinnacle:
There amid the castle ruins we all stand
Scanning countryside and sky and far land
Till our souls are full.
Gonna pack my bag and disappear
The endless road can follow the car
The sun is cold
While the moon shines bright
The sky is a vibrant green
When the birds start to swim
The I know the end is near
The top is down
And my hair blows
It makes me think of the world
The end of the world
I'm almost there
I can already feel it
The sky grows dark
Taking the green away
It fades from biew
The end looks bright
Stars guide my way
All the way to the end of the world
