Abstract

Above all reason,
Benign,
Statistics more favourable,
Ticking time bomb in your head
Radiant sight,
Acrylics could suffice,
Combinations/mixed media,
Talented timeless classics.

Premium Member Entranced by Beautiful Painting

the painting popped like fiber optics
like fluorescents, like neon acrylics
in hot pinks, magentas, turquoise and tangerines
with the precise amount of purples to make the hibiscus glow
I was entranced by this beauty!

Premium Member Polly Pure Paint

Polly Pure Paint was a painter cat with rainbow eyes.
She loved acrylics and watercolors, she had so many supplies.
Her studio was full of glitter paints and copper cogs and wheels too.
She had a steampunk side, that embodied her art through and through.

Premium Member One Color At a Time

paint paint paint
swish swish swish
brushes enjoying themselves
used over and over
painting a plethera of colors
in swirls they begin creating a masterpiece
It appears one color at a time

paint paint paint
swish swish swish
brushes at work, loving their day job
are they using acrylics or oils?
only the artist knows
I watch in amazement
wondering what will happen next

Premium Member Turkey from Baker of the Year

the turkey was exquisitely browned to perfection
we saw her take it out of an oven marked convection
what is your secret? we asked the baker of the year
I can’t pinpoint it, she said, this grandmother dear

another old lady was irritated with grandma’s win.
She urged me over so the gossiping could begin.
It’s not even cooked, it is raw inside, she reported.
She painted it with acrylics, she deserves to be deported.

Premium Member my obsession with cartooning and painting

cartooning relaxes me
I love doing it
a precursor to my paintings
I adore acrylics
fluorescents entice me
fuchsia, orange, green, red, blue,
anything that dazzles under a black light
I never work on one painting
My studio is a messy mess
encouraging me to work on ten at a time
Yesterday I realized I have twenty-six waiting
without a drop of paint
I am working on twelve.
How long can this obsession last?
So far, it has been a steady ten years

Premium Member Hammy the Hamster

Hammy the Hamster had no particular talent that he knew.
He did have a long fat tail that spectacularly grew and grew
One day he fell into some paints, and his paws turned out blue.
He made the cutest prints on a canvas, then slid in some glue.

You are an artist! His mother and father said, admiring him so.
They told every hamster from Des Moines to KoKoMo.
He has been featured in Art Magazines and has had a show.
His favorite paints are the psychedelic acrylics that really glow.
